“As the Executive Director of Activities Beyond the Classroom (ABC), I will actively engage community partners, district stakeholders, and CPS and school leadership until every child in CPS has the opportunity to find and participate in the extracurricular activity that ignites their passion, provides a healthy identity, a sense of belonging, and teaches critical 21st century skills that children need to be successful in life.”

Towards the end of my time in SBS I started to feel really motivated to find a position that would complement my passion for teaching and for advocacy. I had spent my entire educational career in the classroom and I began to wonder if I could enact greater change outside of it.

Q: What is your Vision for Impact Statement?

A. Can you talk about your current work and what led you to that change?

I am a community organizer for Cohear, a company that is doing something that hasn't really been done before! Cohear believes that those living through an everyday issue are experts at the issue.
